WEEK 85 - FEBRUARY 25, 2019 - DON MUEANG

This week was full of miracles for us! After p-day ended last week we set out to go teach Brother Awe. While traveling there we stopped and talked to several people and almost every person we talked to accepted a return appointment. We were blown away at how open hearted the people we met were and how willing to listen they were. One person we met was named Odd. She started talking to us right away and told us how she used to go to a church but lately hadn't been able to go. She talked about how she has been wondering who God really is and how she can get to know Him better. We taught her how to pray right there. The Spirit was strong as we felt the love that our Father in heaven has for this daughter who is searching after greater knowledge of Him.

This week I switched off with Elder McWhorter who is in my group. It was fun to serve with him for a day. He's a great leader and a great missionary. We were talking to a man who wasn't super interested, but as we were finishing up talking to him another man parked his car and called us over to where he was. We walked over and he asked us what we were holding (a Book of Mormon). We told him what it was and then he asked if we had time to sit and talk to him about it! It was so cool! We taught him about the Book of Mormon and he was super excited to read it! In Preach my Gospel it says God will lead us to the people who have been prepared or He will lead them to us!

In our zone conference, our zone was challenged to study the experience of Joseph Smith every week to help strengthen our testimony of the Restoration. This week while reading in Joseph Smith- History I really enjoyed verses 24 and 25. Joseph records "I had actually seen a light, and in the midst of that light I saw two Personages, and they did in reality speak to me; and though I was hated and persecuted for saying that I had seen a vision, yet it was true;" I'm grateful for Joseph's courage in the face of opposition. Each of us will face opposition, probably not as intense as Joseph, but we will have face it. I love how Joseph just focuses on the knowledge that he had. He knew he had seen a vision and all the persecution in the world couldn't change that.

Other fun things from this week:
- met the sister on the cover of the "Come, Follow Me" book!
- visited a member who has a pet squirrel locked up in a little cage. The squirrel was a gift from a friend
-  beat a 16 year old kid in around the world and then we taught him about prayer and he's cool
- helped at a big service project. We sat in a room where they explained the project and took pictures for an hour and a half then we actually worked for half an hour.
- an 88 year old lady was baptized this week and we had 3 missionaries help baptize her because she's old and a little frail. It all went great!
- Name of the week: Best
