WEEK 67 - OCTOBER 21, 2018 - DON MUEANG

The work is still plugging along in the Land of Smiles! This week Brother Game got confirmed. He also got interviewed to get the priesthood and he is super excited to get that! We got to visit him at his house a few days ago. It is a pretty run down little shack but he has a special little place where he keeps his Book of Mormon and the other pamphlets we give him about the missionary lessons. He is such a humble guy and I've learned much from his example. He feels very uncomfortable at his house sometimes. He feels like there are some evil spirits there so we went over and dedicated his house. He asked me to pray for the house which was a really neat experience. We felt a very peaceful spirit enter the room and I'm sure he will be feeling much better at his house in the future.

On Sunday we were talking to Brother Game waiting for him to get interviewed for the priesthood and a guy walked in who just moved to Don Mueang and said he was looking for a church. His name is Owen too! We taught him the Restoration and he is really prepared! Super, super cool! Brother Game helped us teach and bore a powerful testimony which might have been the coolest part of the whole lesson!

We have been teaching a family named brother Neung, Sister Om, and Sister Ja and they are the nicest people. Every time they visit they order just ridiculous amounts of food and they give us all kinds of treats and snacks. They are a really close family who are so perfect for the gospel but they just won't make that final step to come to church and be baptized. They have one day where they can go and buy stuff to sell and that day is Sunday so they haven't come to church yet. It's so sad because they are so close! They read the scriptures and pray as a family every day but they are scared to offend their family by becoming Christian. If they keep praying and reading, I belive they'll want to change eventually.

This week was a little weird because almost all of our investigators went out of town so we did lots of contacting and inviting. It was good! I've also been called a "Mormon" more times this week than my whole mission combined. For the most part, the Thai people don't know the name "Mormon" but random people have just started calling us the Mormons. I think that Satan is pushing hard after President Nelson's course correction but it feels cool to be able to say the full name of the church and stress the importance of Jesus Christ in it. I know He leads this church!

Love you all! Shall we not go on in so great a cause?!
