We've had some busy last few days. Elder Theobald was transferred and Elder Aekniran is my new companion in Don Mueang. Elder Aekniran is so funny! His English is really limited but I've picked out his favorite things to say in English: "I'm so freaking hungry." "Elder Borg, why you so freaking handsome?" "I'm so freaking tired." Haha!! This is going to be such a fun transfer!
I invited a man to church about 2 months ago and he never ended up showing up until last Sunday. He came to church yesterday too and he has so many questions about everything. He's always asking and his questions are super sincere. We taught him the Plan of Salvation yesterday to try to answer some of his questions. Every time we would answer a question he would have 2 or 3 more pop up. It was really awesome to teach someone like that who is so interested. If he keeps searching he'll find an answer. We were getting into some deep stuff yesterday but he was finding answers to questions his current religion can't explain.
Other highlights:
- helped clean an investigator's house. They refused to throw anything away so we were just moving trash around to different places.
- got a flat tire while riding in a taxi
- ate crocodile meat
- met a really drunk man who kept telling us how handsome we are. Then he told us we can park our car at his house if we ever need to. We'll just need a car then we can take him up on his offer.
Thai name of the week: Love
This week I studied a talk by Elder Holland called "Missionary work and the Atonement" it was super good and I recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the Atonement if Jesus Christ better. He talked about how we all need to focus everything we teach on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He also said that missionary work can't be easy because the salvation we're working towards wasn't earned easily. Jesus Christ suffered intense pain so that we can be saved. It only makes sense that the salvation of ourselves and others would need to be difficult as well. I felt close to the Savior as I read this talk and I'm very grateful for His sacrifice.
Love you all! Have a great Christmas season!
