WEEK 64 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2018 - DON MUEANG

We had a great week! Missionary work is awesome!!

This week I experienced one of the coolest miracles of my mission. One of those things that shows God's plan does work by divine design. We received a referral from a new member of our ward and went out to find the referral at her work. While talking to her she was super blown away by how we could speak Thai but ultimately not super interested in learning about Jesus. We left not expecting much from her. Then on Tuesday before English class she called and asked if we could meet. When we met with her she told us she's been invited to several churches but she has never gone but when we invited her she felt something really warm. She said she felt the love of God so she decided to learn more. The first lesson went super well and she got really close with some members. When she came to our second appointment on Thursday she was holding a Book of Mormon which was strange because we hadn't given her one after the first lesson. She was holding it very carefully like a precious gift. She then told us the man who drove her to the church had given it to her. That is a crazy miracle in itself because people who drive the van she was riding in rarely ever take Book of Mormons but this driver happened to have one and happened to give it to her. We were pretty blown away by that. In the lesson, we taught her the Plan of Salvation and she loved it. She was asking tons of great questions and was super into it. After the lesson Elder Theobald grabbed the Book of Mormon she had received and flipped through a few pages. We saw a small slip of paper in it and grabbed it. It was a crude drawing of the Plan of Salvation which I recognized instantly because I was the one who drew it! I had drawn it several months earlier while serving in Pakkret and somehow it had gone through a few hands until it made it's way back to the church right in a lesson I was a part of. If there was any question why I got called back close to one of my old areas I think that answered it! When we told the sister I was the one who drew it she started freaking out and so did the members who were helping us teach. God really is a God of miracles. We had just been teaching this sister that God has a specific plan for each of us and this showed that perfectly. In my studies I read that God can only do miracles according to our faith. I know this awesome sister has amazing faith! She came to church and loved it. She took work off on Sunday even though she usually work. She also told us she sold almost all the stuff she had on Saturday so she was able to go to church on Sunday. I'm so grateful for this incredible miracle that shows how God is in the small details of our lives!

This week some members of Surin came into Bangkok and I got to meet with them! It was so fun to see them! They are all doing well and one of them is planning on serving a mission now too!

Other than that, just lots more teaching and studying and working like missionaries do! I love being a missionary! In Sacrament meeting someone shared this quote from Winston Churchill (see picture) which I thought was really cool. Love you all! Have a great week!!
