Another fun week! Missionary work really is fun. We are teaching some really neat people right now. One man we are teaching quit smoking and drinking coffee the day we taught him the Word of Wisdom. Another man came to church all by himself even before we had even taught him anything about the gospel. I'm always so impressed by the faith of these people. Elder Aek and I were talking about how it feels to be lost. We've both been lost several times on our missions and it is a very desperate feeling. We also talked about how there are so many people that feel lost in their lives. They have no plan or no reason or why in their life. The gospel gives these people a purpose in life and I love seeing it happen to people.
One morning this week we didn't have any appointments so we decided we would just walk to the church and talk to as many people as we could on the way. The first three people we ran into were all willing to have us come back and teach them. One of them used to go to church every week and is excited to come back.
This week we got to help a member who was running an activity for special needs children at the church. The kids there are so pure and full of love. I'm grateful for the chance I had to be there. I was also so impressed with the parents of these kids who sacrifice so much of themselves for their kids. I was blown away by their good attitudes despite their difficult circumstances. Each parent was smiling and had such great love for their kids. It inspired me to keep a better attitude in spite of my trials.
Other highlights:
- played dungeons and dragons for p-day
- served food and did dishes at a restaurant to give some service
- ate lunch with a member who I helped teach and was baptized one year ago!
