Our mission has started something called "Finding February" where we are really focusing on finding the elect this month. We fasted and prayed for extra help and now we're setting out to go to work! Throughout my mission I've learned that when I'm having the most fun is when I'm working my hardest and thinking about myself the least I can. The hard part is just doing that all the time!
A highlight of the week was going to MLC. Most of the Elders there are from my MTC group and it was so fun to be there with them and to hear all their experiences. I'm grateful for all of them! We talked about how we can help our mission keep working hard and stay obedient. Towards the end of the meeting, President Hammond shared with us a super cool experience. He said after the temple groundbreaking Elder Gay from the Presidency of the 70 came up to him and shared that during the meeting he had a very distinct impression from the Holy Ghost that the Thailand Bangkok Mission is about to experience some amazing miracles like has never seen before if the missionaries will just remain obedient. He said the impression was crystal clear to him. What a cool experience!
A few weeks ago I talked to a man who was walking on the street. He was walking very slowly and with a little difficulty. I told him about the resurrection and Jesus Christ and how we can each have a perfect body. He invited us back to teach him. We've been teaching him since then and he's so awesome! He's so humble and has real intent. We picked him up for church yesterday and he was so happy. After church and a baptism service we asked him how he felt and he simply said "joy." He is preparing to be baptized next month. I love this good man!
We've been teaching another man who has been coming to church for a while now but he is very hesitant to move forward and be baptized. He asks so many questions which is really good but most of his questions are very unrelated to what we're teaching him. I think he's got a real desire to learn the truth. We've been praying that he would receive an answer to his prayers. While studying I was wondering why is it so hard for people to get an answer sometimes. After pondering on this question I thought about my own testimony and my own experiences. I realized that answers need to come in a way that we are certain they are from God and not from anything else. Our answers will come so personally that they have to be from God. I'm grateful for my own personal experiences I've had with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I know we can all have those experiences and will have them!
Other weekly highlights:
- Bangkok has lots of dust in the air lately so we had to wear special masks for a few days. It was fun but also kinda hard to talk to people while wearing it
- we found a less active member who hasn't been to church for 2 years one night while on our way home. Her whole family are members. Once again God lead us to be in the right place at the right time.
- Name of the week: Greece
