Hope everybody enjoyed General Conference! Enjoy 3 hours of church while you can! I am excited to see how the new schedule influences the members of the Church. I'm especially excited to see how it helps the members here in Thailand. Family is very important here so I'm excited to see how this strengthens family even more.
This week we went to try to find an investigator who we haven't been able to find for a while. We stopped and talked to a man for a sec and while talking to him a random man walked out of a house while talking on his phone. He walked up to us and told us someone was waiting for us the next street over. We walked over there and there actually was! A man with his family called for us and beckoned us in! They might've been more interested in talking with white people but they were super nice and want us to come back and teach them again! They also had a son named Owen!! Owen has taught himself English and draws really good castles.
This week we also had our zone conference where we learned about setting goals and making plans. Elder Ballard gives a great quote in Preach My Gospel about setting goals: “I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. When one learns to master the principles of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life.” Setting goals is one thing that can take us from being good to being great. I have seen positive effects in my life that come from setting goals and following through with those goals. I'm grateful for the guidance I received from my leaders this past week.
I'm so happy being a missionary! Don Mueang is so great with some amazing people! Thailand is such a special place. I am so glad I have been called to serve the Lord here.
