WEEK 71 - NOVEMBER 18, 2018 - DON MUEANG

สวัสดีครับผม

We had zone conference and stake conference this week so we spent some good time in meetings learning from our leaders! A large theme in stake conference was trying to bring back members who don't go to church often. The Stake President had everyone write down a name of a member who hasn't been to church in a long time and then they gave them to us to have us go find them! That will be fun to see miracles from that.

We met a lady several weeks ago who told us to come back and talk to her when she gets back in town. She got back this last week and we got to teach her. For our follow up appointment she said she had too many customers to talk to us but she only had one customer in her store. Haha but her store has turned out to be really cool! Her one cstoner in the store was a man named Pone. I noticed he had a basketball on his shorts and asked if he enjoyed basketball. He said yes and more than that he also works for the NBA in Thailand! He does the commentary on the games and writes analysis on the games! We taught him the Restoration a few days later and he came to stake conference! He is super cool! At the same lady's shop a few days later she was asleep when we showed up for our next appointment but as we were leaving we ran into a guy that the missionaries here used to teach and he was so happy to see us! He wants to learn more about Jesus Christ as well!

This week I also had to go renew my visa at a huge government building at 5:00 in the morning. We ran into several foreigners who kept saying "it looks like Salt Lake in here!" because of all the missionaries. I also met a man from China who walked up to me and asked who we were. I told him about what we do and he told me he's wanted to learn about Jesus ever since he was little. He said he can't find a church anywhere in Thailand and he doesn't speak Thai so he can't really go anywhere. I was able to show him a church near his house and set him up to meet with the missionaries there! I got a text from the Elders there the next day telling us that they got to meet with him, he brought 2 friends, and all 3 of them already accepted a baptismal date! The Lord prepares people for us to find no matter where we go!

I've been reading the New Testament lately and in Thessalonians Paul talks about the people he has taught by saying "For ye are our glory and joy." These Thai brothers and sisters really do bring so much joy to everyone that meets them. I feel so happy to be here with them! I'm grateful to be able to see a small glimpse of how our Father in Heaven sees each of us.

Love you all! Shall we not go on in so great a cause?!
