WEEK 80 - JANUARY 23, 2019 - DON MUEANG

We got the news about transfers last night and I will be staying in Don Mueang for another transfer with Elder Aek. I'm so excited to be staying! We have some great people we're teaching and I'm excited to keep working!

We taught the cute little family we refound again this week. They're so nice! We taught them a great lesson about baptism figuring they would accept just like they did a few months ago. We asked them if they would like to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized and they said No! I was shocked for a second. Turns out they've already been baptized in another Christian church and they don't feel like they need to be baptized again. We texplained Priesthood authority but they were pretty firm in their answer. Any prayers in their behalf would be much appreciated!

We went to go find a potential investigator at a small mall by our house. We found him and he was very uninterested. We then saw a cleaning lady getting ready to clean an escalator and hurried over to help her. She was so happy and gladly accepted our help! We cleaned the escalator together and briefly explained who we were. After we finished cleaning she told us to come every morning and we could teach her 10 minutes after we clean together! She's so Cool! She's reading the Book of Mormon and understands so well! Her daughter is Christian too. She gets so excited when we show up every morning. Service is such a good way to open people's hearts.

Had a cool experience with a less active member. We stopped by her house just to say hello. She was super friendly and said we could come back and talk with her whole family who are also members on another day. I felt we needed to invite one specific member so we did. She came with her daughter and the whole ride over I felt like she was very skeptical. She wasn't sure if there would even be a member or why the Elders were inviting her. Eventually, we got to the member's house and her face lit up. Turns out the member and this less active member had been old friends from the church for several years. They were both so excited to meet again. I know that was the Holy Ghost inspiring me to invite that member to go with us.

Other cool things:
- had a man tell me I look like Donald Trump.
- was able to watch the Guinness world record for largest serving of mango sticky rice ever. An investigator was watching when we got to his house. Being a part of history here in Thailand!
- went to Ayuttaya for last p-day and saw a bunch of old Thai temples

A favorite quote from this week from Abraham Lincoln: “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

Temple site!
